| Here's an example that applied to me recently... I was bidding on '93 Mercedes 300E on eBay. The blue book value was ~$6k. It was immaculate and deserved full book value. The guy asked me what I'd pay right now when I went to see it. To me it was only worth buying if I could get it for what I could sell my daily driver for plus $1k. In this instance all I would offer was $4500 even though the value was indeed $6k. Just the way it is in the used part marketplace. =)
